Dear HSA members and followers, Here is an opportunity to put your skills to good use and have fun doing it. HSA elects its officers at the Annual HSA Meeting in May of each year. The term of office begins June 1 and newly elected officers shall work with the preceding officers during the summer. These officers (listed below and attached for downloading) constitute the HSA Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversees the operation and policy decisions of the Hudson Society of Artists.We would love to hear from you. HUDSON SOCIETY OF ARTIST OFFICERS AND DUTIES PRESIDENT: The President shall create the agenda for and preside at all membership meetings and board meetings. The President shall appoint standing committees and special project committees. In the event of the absence of the Recording Secretary, the President shall appoint a pro-tem secretary for the purpose of recording the proceedings of the meeting. The President shall serve as an ex officio member of all committees to ensure that the best interests of the Hudson Society of Artist are served. The President shall enforce the Bylaws and Standing Rules of the Hudson Society of Artists. VICE PRESIDENT: In the absence of the President, shall preside and carry out the duties of President. RECORDING SECRETARY: Maintain a record of the proceedings of Board Meetings and make copies available to the President and the Board members. SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR: Gather organize and post HSA-related content to social media platforms and disseminate social media responses and input to the membership. TREASURER: Handle all income and expenditures. Maintain a checking account at a local bank. Keep an itemized account of all receipts and disbursements. Make a financial report at a January meeting and in the January issue of the newsletter. Submit financial records to the President for review in April. Retain all receipts and canceled checks for a period of seven years and then dispose of them. Retain the checkbook records permanently. Check the HSA post office box weekly. MEMBERSHIP CHAIR: Compile, by December 1, a list of paid-up members for publication in the annual Directory. Compile the Directory for publication. Provide the Treasurer and the Social Media Coordinator with a list of members and addresses as they are received. PUBLICITY CHAIR: Develop and execute a public relations plan that aligns with the HSA' s goals and objectives. Help increase membership and group awareness. Coordinate with show chairpersons and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Work with local media to develop promotional materials such as ads and promotional copy. Monitor media coverage of the organization and it’s events and respond to any negative publicity. Build relationships with community leaders, artists, and others to increase visibility and support for HSA. HOSPITALITY CHAIR Arrange for volunteers to bring refreshments to every general meeting and shall set up the tables of same at the meetings and shall check and purchase supplies.
